Phoenix Aviation offer 30 minute and 1 hour flights with our experienced Flying Instructors, starting from just £105 in the Ikarus C42 Microlight and £155 in the Piper PA28 light aircraft - please note that there is a absolute weight limit of 90kg in the C42 and 115kg in the PA28.
Situated with The Solent only a stone's throw from the end of the runway and with the Isle of Wight just 5 minutes flight time away, Solent Airport Daedalus at Lee-on-Solent is hard to beat as a location.
The lesson begins with a comprehensive pre-flight briefing on the principles of flight, the aircraft and its controls, and what to expect during the lesson. During the flight, and under the expert eyes of your instructor, you will take the controls and experience what it's like to pilot an aircraft.
If you've chosen to fly the PA28, then why not bring a friend to share the experience? At no extra cost, subject to weight limitations, our four-seater aircraft have ample room for one passenger.
On the 1 hour lessons, for a fee of £20, there is an option to include a landing part-way through the flight at a local airfield. In the PA28s, this will enable sharing the flying with a friend – one flying out and the other back. Because of weight, weather and airfield availability constraints, this option can only be purchased on the day when all the above are know.
No lower or upper age limits apply for learning to fly, but for practical reasons we recommend teenager and upwards. The flying can be logged as training and counts towards a PPL, LAPL or NPPL licence.

Please note that we do not fly unless the weather is suitable for the lesson AND we are satisfied that it will be an enjoyable experience. In the UK climate this means that a rebooking, and possibly more than one rebooking, may be required. Sometimes we can slightly delay the flight on the day in question to allow for the weather to improve e.g. a mist to disperse, but this depends on what other bookings there are.
The weather can be just as good for flying in the winter as the summer, albeit not as warm, but the trial lesson vouchers are valid for 10 months so this gives plenty of time to plan/replan the flight.
